Our Mission

Based on the success and experience of 40 years with the legal department of companies listed within the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, we aim to advise and suppoort small/medium businesses who are trying to take the international step with professional and concrete solutions.

Under the ever changing global economy, an advanced and technical approach that addresses complicated management concerns(especially in the legal, tax, labor, finance as well as general affairs) is needed, but there are many instances of failure in overseas expansion both for small/medium and largeJapanese businesses.

We will strive to eliminate overseas risks and traps for small/medium businesses who are trying to expand into foreign countries, strengthening their global competitive edge, which will hopefully, ultimately stimulate Japan's entire economy in line with Abenomics .

Corporate Risk Management

There are mainly five types of risk involving overseas business expansion:

1) Risk of the host country's authorities itself (Penalties under Customs and Antitrust laws, corporate tax increase by adjustment of taxable income etc.)

2) Risk of the laws and regulations themselves (PL law, recall, transfer pricing taxation etc.)

3)  Contract risk involving local businesses

(Adverse contract standards or provisions etc.)

4) Risk of hiring foreign accountants and lawyers (Unreasonably expensive fees and aggressive marketing of unnecessary services)

5) Risk of hiring locals for higher positions

(High turnover rate, breach of trust, embezzlement etc.)

These risks are all directly connected to management and have a significant impact on profit, where bankruptcy is often the case if handled  inappropreately. Our accumulated corporate legal know-how can help your business avoid these risks.
